About our group
Hartington Wildflowers is a group of volunteers who share a passion for helping to look after nature in our local area. Since the group was started in 2021, we have developed ten community wildflower areas. We also help residents develop wildflower areas in their own gardens.
Each of the ten areas provides diverse habitats for wildflowers, with nature corridors consequently developing across our village.
What are we working to achieve?
Creating and managing designated village spaces to support wildflowers and wildlife, developed and maintained by the community.
We have three main objectives
Care for our local environment
Nature needs us more than ever, and we beleive it is possible to make a difference locally
Community Engagement
Providing a means for members of the community to meet, work together and enjoy themselves whilst getting close to Nature
For our own well being
We need nature – we are part of it. Proven benefits for physical and mental wellbeing by being close to nature
Our volunteers
All of us share a common interest in helping to look after nature locally in and around our community. If you’d like to get involved please let us know.
